While Bangladesh’s shift toward a competency-based curriculum marks a progressive milestone in our education system, the transition from policy to practice remains complex. In this piece, I analyze the critical bottlenecks hindering this transformation, ranging from the necessity of intensive teacher mentorship and the limitations of our current infrastructure to the deeply rooted socio-psychological focus on traditional grading systems.
True educational reform requires more than just a change in syllabus; it demands a systemic overhaul of how we evaluate potential and support our educators on the front lines.
